The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan has presented Presidential Awards to seventeen (17) Senior High schools and two(2) Institutions on the occasion of the Head of State Awards Day Held by the Head of State Awards Scheme under the Office of the President in Cape Coast.
Delivering her address as the special guest of honour, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan noted that the sub License awards presented would be an opportunity for the awardee institutions to mentor young ones to become future focused leaders.
She said these institutions and organizations are geared towards equipping young people as much as possible to unearth their potentials.
The Hon. Regional Minister added that the presentation was part of the ongoing national revival and expansion program meant to extend the reach of the Head of State Awards Scheme Nationwide. She however lamented that statistics indicating 40% of the world’s unemployed being young people is likely to triple in years to come.
Hon Assan stressed that additional unemployed challenge to most part of the world was a youthful problem becoming a great challenge to governments.
The Minister reiterated the need for urgent attention to address youth unemployment and accompanying challenges by investing heavily in programs and projects which have the impetus to sharpen the competencies of the youth for their personal growth and the nation’s transformational growth in general.
A total of Nineteen (19) awardees were presented with the Sub License Certificates comprising the Cape Coast Technical Institute, University Practice Senior High School, Mfantsipim School, Mfantsiman Girls SHS, Methodist Senior High School, Apam Senior High School, Swedru Senior High School, Enyan Denkyira Senior High School, Wesley Girls Senior High School, Ghana National College, The Girls Brigade Ghana, Holy Child School, Oguaa Senior High Technical School, Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Senior High School, and Mankessim Senior High School.
