The Central Regional Town Hall Meetings and Exhibitions have been held at VIKS –COURTS, Cape-Coast in the Central Region. During the event, Ministers, Traditional leaders, Religious leaders, Students from the second cycle institutions, Citizens of the Central Region and Friends from the media observed a moment of silent with a standing ovation for the unforeseen event which happened at Buduburam that is the blasting of stones which caused lifes and loss of property in Buduburam, led by Honourable Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan – Central Regional Minister.
The Regional Minister Honourable. Mrs. Assan in her speech elaborated on the infrastructure development in the Central Region, which she stated that, “ five thousand seven hundred and two (5,702) coverage of infrastructures has been put up in the whole Region”, she acknowledged H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo the president of the Republic and the vice president, H.E Mahamudu Bawumia for the great works that is being done in the Central Region of Ghana.
The Presidential Advisory on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah – Asare said the Agenda 111 project, after the Covid – 19, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo – Addo the president and H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia the vice president made it their motives to improve upon the health facilities in the nation; by building ultra-modern hospitals in the nation to enhance healthcare in the
country.
The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Honourable Mavis Hawa Koomson reiterated that the Fisheries College, Fisheries Law and the Premix Fuel used by fishing industry sector has contributed to job creation, national food security and poverty reduction.
Honorable Hawa Koomson stated that the Anomabo Fisheries College was started by the NDC Government which is now almost about 90% completion by the NPP Government, and that the College is going to be affiliated to University of Cape-Coast to enhance quality of education in the College providing Diploma Certificates and also helping the fishermen to learn about the fishes and sea to be able to help improve on their fishing skills and techniques.
“The vice-president – H.E Mahamudu Bawumia has brought a solution to the challenges on the premix fuel used by the fishing industry, the vice president has introduced the automated Premix Fuel Project, which is going to solve the problem of the diversion and hoarding of the premix fuel”, and is going to produce three hundred dispensers across the coastal areas of which 100 dispensers have been completed and operating efficiently”, she stated.
A panel discussion was carried out on the projects being done in the Central Region after which an inspection took place on the exhibitions of the MMDAs in the region led by the ministers and other chiefs present at the meeting.
