The Central Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in collaboration with the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC) have received some relief items from the inspectorate division of its mother Organization.

Receiving the relief items, the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere expressed gratitude to the Inspectorate division of the organization for the prompt intervention and thoughtfully frequenting Cape Coast Metropolis to attend to the disaster that took three lives few days back when two buildings collapsed during heavy rain falls.

Hon. Eduamoah who is the Chairman of the Central Regional Disaster Management Security Committee cautioned affected people in the Cape Coast Metropolis to do well to refrain from such unforseen dangers and assured the team for the swift and prompt intervention in honouring their promise.

The Regional Minister further said the items would be distributed without any discrimination or personal interest. This he stressed would bring trust to the affected people.

” As the head of the Disaster Management Security Committee, I would make sure these items are fairly distributed without personal intent”, he ended.

Hon. Eduamoah cautioned the affected not to be complacent as everyone would have their fair share, adding that anyone who builds on water ways or does not use the right building guide would face law.

The Regional Director of NADMO, Mr. Emmanuel Kwesi Dawood Mensah outlined some measures taken to curb unforseen impending storms during this time and preparations made to manage them.

The Regional Director, noted that most houses identified during monitoring and inspection by the Regional Security Disaster Management were threat zones for inhabitants and needed to be pulled down before any unforseen circumstances occur again.

He assured of his office’s prompt assistance to the entire Central Region’s inhabitants anytime they call on NADMO.

In a response, the Director in charge of Inspectorate Division at the head office, Mr. Richard Amo Yartey called on the Regional Minister to prioritize the distribution and assured the regional director of NADMO of the head offices full support at anytime to swiftly curb such disaster, especially in this wake of heavy rains and tidal wind occurring in the region.

Mr. Yartey presented some bags of rice, cooking oil, mattresses, blankets and mosquito nets to the Central Regional Minister.
