President John Dramani Mahama continued his nationwide”Thank You” tour with a visit to the Central Region, where he addressed thousands of supporters at Jubilee Park in Cape Coast.
The visit marked the second leg of his post-election gratitude campaign, following a stop from the Western Region the previous day.
During his speech, President Mahama expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the people of the Central Region for their trust, support and also being a historic region to have produced the first female vice president of the country.
He acknowledged the region’s significant contribution to his electoral victory and emphasized his administration’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of the region and also made it known to the people of the region that they will have their fair share of the national cake.
The President highlighted several key initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the Central Region.
He assured the audience that projects to enhance road networks, upgrade educational institutions, and improve healthcare facilities were high on his agenda.
He also highlighted the audience on the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), stating that the committee would present a report to him of which it will be investigated and dealt with, he stated that not only members from the past government would be held accountable but also members of his governance would also be held to the ORAL.
The Vice President Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang thanked the people of Central Region for not letting her down when she was selected by the flagbarer of the NDC to be the President’s running mate of which they emerged victorious.
Community leaders who spoke at the event lauded President Mahama’s dedication to national unity and development.
They expressed optimism that his leadership would bring about positive changes in the region and the country at large.
