The Central Regional Minister Hon. Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, has led a passionate call for peace, unity, and spiritual renewal during the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held at Cape Coast.
In his address, the Minister urged citizens to work together in faith and action to foster national development and regional progress. He emphasized the need for spiritual commitment, social cooperation, and security within the region’s borders, calling on all leaders—traditional, religious, and political—to play their part in building a peaceful society.
A statement which was read on behalf of Omanhen of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osaberima Dr. Kwesi Atta II, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of tradition and faith working together for the nation’s good.
Opening prayers were led by Rev. Michael Ato Essil, Area Administrator of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, while Right.Rev. Richardson Aboagye Andam, Methodist Bishop, gave the purpose of the gathering.
The Regional Chairman; Rev. Dr. Bismark Moore of the Assemblies of God and GPCC urged all Christians to stand firm in intercession and national responsibility.
Prayers of intercession were held under three themes: Reflect, Reset and Renew.
These sessions focused on thanking God, seeking forgiveness, and asking for wisdom for national leaders and policymakers.
The event brought together dignitaries from various Political parties, clergy, students, media and community members in Central Region.
The second prayer and thanksgiving was held at Central Mosque in Cape Coast with prayers on the three points (reflect, reset, renew) led by the Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Alhaji Rashid Iddi Tijani.
The event ended with an appeal for funds and some notable acknowledgments.
